The yellow sponge is aggressive and removes the smallest particles, deep scratches, marks and heavy oxidation. The blue sponge is less aggressive and removes scratches, marks and unevenness with polishing agent. The orange sponge is a good universal sponge for many different polishing jobs. Removes scratches and unevenness while leaving a smooth and even surface. Used best for medium polishing. White sponge for light cleaning and reduces scratches slightly. Used mainly to remove polishing marks from previous sponges and to give a shiny surface. The black sponge is used for final polishing to achieve maximum shine. Use with light polish and you will get a good result! The sponges can be washed in water up to 60 degrees along with mild detergent and then wrung out by hand. It is not recommended to use the sponge until it has air dried completely. Choose a soft or hard sponge depending on what is to be polished and the wax you intend to use for best results. The sponges have a “diamond-shaped” surface to provide an air flow between the sponge and the surface, which effectively keeps the temperature down and eliminates overheating.
